Tech also go hammered with the NASDAQ down 1.72% led by weak guidance from Cisco (CSCO).

With the decline, the S&P 500 is down over 3% from its recent record.

The selling could trigger more selling.

The benefactor of the equities selling was an upward surge in Gold prices.
